Nationally known writer, illustrator, narrator and lecturer, Yvonne Collie, created Jake and his friends almost 3 decades ago. Jake, a 6-3/4 inch gnome, and his friends have taught children the values they need for a healthy and productive life.

Through a series of eBooks, DVDs and a just released book, Jake and his friends have helped children understand the importance of friendship, honesty, nutrition and wellness. Jake has opened the doors to "The Magic Place", the library, and even shown children the difference between gangs and teams.

One of Jake’s friends, I.C. Berg, a penguin, teaches children how to say no to smoking, alcohol abuse and drug use.

Yvonne Collie is the creator of Jake's World & I.C.Berg's Neighborhood.

Yvonne Collie draws on her years of storytelling experience and the love and understanding of children. Yvonne is a mother of 5, a grandmother of 10, and proud great grandmother of 8.

Yvonne’s goal is to continue to create educational DVDs and books with messages that encourage children to make healthy and intelligent decisions. Yvonne writes and illustrates her books and writes, illustrates and narrates her DVDs. She develops the concepts and then adapts them to video.

The subject matter for the stories is determined by area of need and by recommendations from educators, ranging from classroom teachers to substance abuse counselors, from university professors to physicians and concerned civic leaders. All of the Jake’s World DVDs and books are designed for audiences from Pre-K to 3rd grade.

Yvonne has received the recognition of the community for her efforts in standing up for our nation's children and has earned a national reputation for high quality and effective educational materials.
